This Saturday’s UFC Orlando event features an intriguing battle of strawweight prospects on the preliminary card between Yazmin Jauregui and Istela Nunes.
Jauregui (9-0-0) will be looking to build on her UFC debut this past August when she picked up the unanimous decision victory over Iasmin Lucindo. The undefeated 23-year-old is a highly-touted prospect who won the strawweight championship as part of Combate Global. She has finished six of her career wins by way of stoppages and has the ultimate goal of becoming the UFC’s first-ever female champion from Mexico.
Nunes (6-3-0) is hoping to pick up her first UFC victory after going 0-2 with the promotion following a submission loss to Ariane Carnelossi and a decision defeat to Sam Hughes. Before signing with UFC, the Brazilian competed for ONE Championship and notably challenged Angela Lee for the atomweight championship.
UFC Fight Night Orlando takes place this Saturday, December 3, 2022, from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, United States. The preliminary card, featuring Jauregui VS Nunes, will be aired live on ESPN & ESPN+ from 7 pm ET.
