WMMA Rankings is proud to introduce our new feature, “Fighter of the Week”, where we highlight the top performer in women’s MMA from fights that took place during the week. This week’s Fighter of the Week, ending on Sunday 14 May, is Tainara Lisboa.
Lisboa made her UFC debut at UFC Fight Night Charlotte on Saturday, and what a debut it was. Going up against veteran Jessica-Rose Clark, Lisboa put on a show for the fans in attendance and watching around the world. In the third round, Lisboa secured a submission victory over Clark, showing her dominance and skill in the octagon.
Other female fighters across the UFC and Bellator also put on impressive performances, but Lisboa by far stole the show over the weekend. Her performance was a testament to her dedication and hard work in training. Her striking was sharp and accurate, and her grappling was on full display with the submission finish.
The Brazilian fighter has been making waves in the MMA community for some time now, improving to 6-2-0 as a pro with her UFC debut win. Lisboa also boasts over a decade of Muay Thai experience, which has undoubtedly contributed to her impressive striking skills. Her win over Clark puts her on the map as a fighter to watch in the women’s bantamweight division.
Lisboa showed that she has the skills and potential to make a name for herself in the UFC and become a top contender in her division. As the first Fighter of the Week for WMMA Rankings, Lisboa has set the bar high for future contenders.
We congratulate Tainara Lisboa on her UFC debut victory and her selection as our Fighter of the Week for the week ending on Sunday 14 May. We look forward to seeing her continue to impress in future fights and watching her rise through the ranks of the women’s bantamweight division. Stay tuned for next week’s Fighter of the Week, as we continue to highlight the top performers in women’s MMA.
