WATCH: “The world knows Cyborg, Ronda and Joanna and will soon know me.” Meet TUF 28 featherweight, Larissa Pacheco

This Wednesday’s edition of ‘The Ultimate Fighter: Heavy Hitters’ (TUF 28) features the fourth quarter final bout in the women’s featherweight division tournament when Larissa Pacheco takes on Macy Chiasson.

Pacheco vows to follow in the footsteps of Cyborg, Ronda and Joanna.

In the first quarter-final match-up, Pannie Kianzad earned the unanimous decision win over Katharina Lehner. Whilst in the second, Julija Stoliorenko submitted Marciea Allen in the first. In the third quarter-final bout, Leah Letson picked up the dominant unanimous decision win over Bea Malecki. Kianzad, Stoliorenko and Letson have cemented their places in the semi-finals of a tournament to determine the UFC’s next top contender at 145-pounds.

Pacheco (11-2) is a 24-year-old who fights out of the Tata Fight Team in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Back in 2014, at 19-year-old, Pacheco initially signed with the UFC as part of their bantamweight division, losing by way of a third-round TKO to Germaine de Randamie. With the loss, Pacheco took time away from the sport in order to have multiple surgeries, build muscle mass and train specifically for the 145-pound division. She made her long-awaited return this past March, picking up the second-round submission win over Karolline Rosa.

Ahead of Wednesday’s episode of TUF 28, the UFC has released a promotional video introducing Pacheco. Take a look below:
