Top strawweight contender, Nina Ansaroff, will be stepping away from the cage for one year in hopes to have a baby with fiancée Amanda Nunes.
Ansaroff told ESPN of her plans. “I’m not pregnant yet, but we are looking into the process,” she said.
Nunes told ESPN Brazil that the couple should whether or not Ansaroff is pregnant before UFC 245– where Nunes defends her bantamweight championship versus Germaine de Randamie.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Nunes said. “That’s another wonderful time in my life, I’ll enjoy it.”
“Nina’s dream is to be a mother before being a UFC champion. Having a child is Nina’s biggest dream and I’m happy to share it with her,” added Nunes.
“The Strina” was last in action at UFC 238 in June– losing a hard fought decision to Tatiana Suarez. The 33-year-old Ansaroff is ranked No. 5 in the official UFC strawweight rankings and No. 6 in the WMMA Rankings World Rankings.
