Manon Fiorot is coming off the biggest win of her career after defeating Katlyn Chookagian at Saturday’s UFC 280 event.

Manon Fiorot picked up a huge victory at UFC 280.

Fiorot (10-1-0) defeated Chookagian via unanimous decision at UFC 280. The victory is a big one for the French woman, especially considering the fact that Chookagian was the number-one ranked flyweight contender in the world leading into the fight.

Following the big win, fans are calling for Fiorot to challenge UFC flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko. However, during a post-fight interview with UFC.com, Fiorot expressed that she believes she needs one more win before challenging for the belt. She’d like to face off against Alexa Grasso next.

It was the biggest win of my career. The fight wasn’t how I expected, but most important is [that] I win the fight and I climb [up] the ranking. She’s very difficult to strike but I try, in the third round I wrestle, perhaps I can use the wrestling in the beginning next time, but I really wanted to strike and stand up tonight.” she said.

To be honest I think I need one more win before the title shot. [Alexa] Grasso won last week, so let’s do this.” she continued.

After Fiorot moves up the rankings in the UFC’s next update, she and Alexa Grasso will be the highest-ranked contenders who have yet to challenge Shevchenko for the flyweight title. Grasso is coming off a unanimous decision win over Viviane Araujo at last week’s UFC Vegas 61 event.

UFC 280 took place on October 22, 2022, from the Etihad Arena in United Arab Emirates.
