The UFC has announced that a documentary movie based on two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas will premiere on October 30.

Rose Namajunas is a two-time UFC strawweight champion.

The UFC announced on Tuesday that ‘Thug Rose: Mixed Martial Artist‘ will premiere at the Austin Film Fest on Sunday, October 30. The documentary will chronicle the inspiring journey that saw Namajunas become UFC world champion on two occasions. A live Q&A is expected to take place after the premiere featuring Namajunas herself & the movie’s director Marius Markevicius.

Namajunas (11-5-0) is without a doubt one of the most prolific female combat sports athletes of all time. The 30-year-old rose to stardom in 2017 after knocking out Joanna Jedrzejczyk in the very first round to begin her first reign as strawweight champion. After losing the belt to Jessica Andrade in 2020, she would go on to re-capture it from Weili Zhang in 2021 following a stunning first-round head kick knockout.

All the details on the new Rose Namajunas movie can be found via the UFC’s Instagram post below.
