Bantamweight contender Mayra Bueno Silva has called out Miesha Tate for a UFC showdown in Brazil.

Silva (9-2-1) has gone 2-0 since moving up to the 135-pound bantamweight division. The ‘Sheetara’ now has her sights set on picking up her biggest victory of all against the former champion in Tate.

On Friday, Silva took to her Instagram Story to issue the official call-out for the UFC 283 event in Brazil on January 21.

Let’s go Miesha Tate. The Brazilian people love you and want this fight, it would be an honor to share the octagon with you.” she wrote.

Take a look at Silva’s post via the video below.

Following a 2-2-1 run in the UFC’s flyweight division, Silva seems to have found the weight-class right for her since moving up. With wins over Yanan Wu and Stephanie Egger, the Brazilian believes she can be a contender at 135-pounds and wants to prove it by taking on the best of the best.

Tate has gone 1-2 since returning to the UFC in 2021. She picked up a victory over Marion Reneau but lost decisions to Ketlen Vieira and Lauren Murphy. Also known as the ‘Cupcake’, Tate moved down to flyweight for her last showing but is expected to move back up to bantamweight upon her return to the cage.
