Silvana Juarez vs. Vanessa Demopoulos pushed back to UFC 270 on January 22

The strawweight contest between Silvana Juarez & Vanessa Demopoulos will no longer take place at this Saturday’s UFC Vegas 46 event and will instead go ahead at next Saturday’s UFC 270 event.

Demopoulos confirmed the news on her Instagram page on Wednesday afternoon. No exact reasoning was given for the move.

Both women will be competing in the UFC for the second time, after losing their debut bouts. Silvana Juarez (10-3-0) lost via first-round armbar submission to Lupita Godinez this past October, whilst Vanessa Demopoulos (6-4-0) lost a unanimous decision to JJ Aldrich in August.

With Juarez and Demopoulos being pushed back to next week, the flyweight bout between Jennifer Maia and Katlyn Chookagian will be the only women’s fight on this week’s UFC Vegas 46 card. Next week’s UFC 270 card is also scheduled to feature a strawweight contest, pitting Kay Hansen and promotional newcomer Jasmine Jasudavicius against each other.
