Ramona Pascual returns to the cage at this Saturday’s UFC Vegas 64 event when she battles promotional newcomer Tamires Vidal.

Ramona Pascual moves down to bantamweight following two UFC fights at featherweight.

Pascual (6-4-0) will be moving down to the 135-pound bantamweight division after competing in her first two UFC fights up at the 145-pound featherweight class.

During a recent chat with Jack Walter, Pascual revealed the reason she is moving down to bantamweight is due to the UFC’s failure to invest in the featherweight division.

The UFC is not investing in the featherweight division for females and they made that really clear so they’re really only looking for fighters to fill the bantamweight division. So that’s kind of the only thing. If you want to fight in the UFC, the heaviest division is the bantamweight. They have had fights at featherweight but they’re sort of like those one-off fights. There are a few 145 girls who are dropping to 35, so that’s just the attention of the organization.” she explained.

Despite this, Pascual would welcome the addition of a full 145-pound division for females in the UFC, although admits there would be pros and cons.

That would be awesome, it would work out really well for the big 35’ers that wouldn’t have to go through so much to cut all that weight but at the same time if they were to open up the 45 division it would take time to build and then you’re thinning out the 35 division because some of those girls gonna go up.” she said.

I would like there to be a 45 division of course because you know I have options but right now it’s where it’s at and I don’t know for sure why they don’t wanna build the 45 division but they made it pretty clear they kind of want to keep 35 growing.” she continued.

The 34-year-old spoke about several topics during her chat with Jack Walter – including her upcoming opponent, the weight cut to 135, her rugby background, and more. Watch the full interview via the video below.

UFC Vegas 64 takes place this Saturday November 5, 2022, from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
