Poliana Botelho has pulled out of her fight against Ji Yeon Kim at the UFC 270 event on January 22.
MMA Junkie reported on Wednesday that Poliana Botelho has pulled out of her upcoming flyweight encounter due to undisclosed reasons. The UFC will not seek to find a replacement to fight Ji Yeon Kim, meaning the bout has officially been scrapped from the card.
Botelho (8-4-0) has gone 0-2 in her last two showings after dropping decisions to Gillian Robertson and Luana Carolina. Meanwhile, Yeon Kim (9-4-2) has found herself in an identical situation, going 0-2 in her last pair of showings following decision losses to Alexa Grasso and Molly McCann.
With the removal of Botelho vs. Yeon Kim, as well as the previously announced removal of the Alexa Grasso vs. Viviane Araujo match-up, UFC 270 now only has one female fight on the card. Kay Hansen is scheduled to take on Jasmine Jasudavicius in a strawweight contest on the preliminary card.
UFC 270 takes place on January 22, 2022, from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
