PFL chairman hopes “scared” Cris Cyborg will finally accept Kayla Harrison fight, still believes Harrison will win despite recent loss

PFL co-founder & chairman Donn Davis has called for a super-fight between Kayla Harrison and reigning Bellator featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.

Kayla Harrison suffered an upset defeat to Larissa Pacheco this past Friday.

During a recent chat with ESPN, PFL chairman Donn Davis expressed that he believes Cris Cyborg’s “fear” of Kayla Harrison previously prevented her from accepting the WMMA super-fight. He hopes now that Harrison has lost, Cyborg will finally take the fight.

My view is simple: Cris was scared of Kayla and unwilling to take that fight prior to [last Friday]. I believe there was zero chance of that fight happening due to Cyborg’s fear of Kayla. Now, I think the odds of that fight happening have gone way up, and I still believe Kayla wins that fight.” Davis said.

PFL has offered that fight and Kayla has offered that fight. We’ve offered the highest-guaranteed purse in female MMA history for that fight, and Cris Cyborg has refused. There is nothing standing in the way of that fight happening other than Cris Cyborg. If she wants to cement her legacy, make money and prove she’s better than Kayla Harrison in the cage instead of Twitter, she’d take the fight — because she’s the only reason it hasn’t happened.” he continued.

When asked for comment by ESPN, Cyborg maintained that she has never officially been offered such a fight besides talk on Twitter. She is set to make her second professional boxing appearance on December 10 when she battles Gabrielle Holloway.
