Norma Dumont has fired back at fellow UFC fighter Ailin Perez for recent verbal jabs on social media.
On Thursday, UFC bantamweight Ailin Perez took to Twitter to accuse rival Norma Dumont of ducking a featherweight title fight against Amanda Nunes. She would also go on to tell the Brazilian to “lose weight” before calling out any of the bantamweights.
Dumont quickly caught wind of Perez’s comments and took to her own Twitter page to let her feelings be known. She says she would love to get her hands on Perez, but fears she will be cut from the UFC roster before it can happen.
“You talk too much! Unfortunately for your technical level you will probably be dismissed before I have the opportunity to get my hands on you.” Dumont wrote.
“Easy and pleasant money!” she said in another Tweet.
Both women have traded shots on Twitter once before, following Perez’s UFC debut in which she lost to Stephanie Egger by way of a submission after twerking on stage during the ceremonial weigh-ins one night earlier.
Dumont has cemented her position as one of the top contenders at 145-pounds, picking up victories over the likes of Aspen Ladd, Felicia Spencer, and Danyelle Wolf. During a recent chat with WMMA Rankings, the Brazilian revealed that the UFC has ordered her to move down to the 135-pound bantamweight division. She believes the featherweight division will soon be closed.
