Manon Fiorot returns to the cage at this Saturday’s UFC 280 event when she takes on Katlyn Chookagian.

Manon Fiorot has gone undefeated since signing with the UFC.

Fiorot (9-1-0) has gone 4-0 since signing with the UFC and now receives a huge opportunity when she takes on number-one ranked flyweight contender Katlyn Chookagian. The 32-year-old is very confident leading into the fight and plans to call out the division’s champion Valentina Shevchenko after she wins.

I respect her. I know she’s one of the most technical fighters in the division, but I win this fight, and I swear it’s not boring. She’s definitely a gatekeeper, if I can talk like that, but I’m happy, because I’ll show that I can beat the gatekeeper and do my job. .. Definitely after the fight I’ll call out Valentina for the belt.” Fiorot told MMA Junkie.

Chookagian has been known to possess largely a point fighting style in which she uses her reach and length to maintain distance and land shots from the outside – all of her UFC victories come by way of decisions. Fiorot feels as though Chookagian will have a tough time implementing this game-plan come Saturday.

Most of her wins are by footwork and fight IQ, but I have better. I’m coming here to do a standup fight, but I really think after the first round she’ll want to wrestle me.” she said.

UFC 280 takes place this Saturday October 22, 2022, from the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The main card will be aired live on pay-per-view from 2pm ET.
