A bantamweight contest between Julianna Pena and Sara McMann has been moved to the UFC 257 event on January 23. The news was first confirmed by MMA Fighting.
The bout between Pena and McMann was originally scheduled for the UFC Fight Night event on January 16. The location of the bout will stay the same and is scheduled to take place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Pena (9-4-0) looks to rebound from a third-round submission loss to Germaine de Randamie. Prior to the loss, ‘The Venezuelan Vixen’ was coming off an impressive unanimous decision win over former UFC flyweight champion, Nicco Montano.
McMann (12-5-0) returned to the cage this past January 2020, after almost two years away from the sport due to pregnancy. The former Olympic wrestler put on a showcase in her return fight, dominating Lina Lansberg for the unanimous decision win. McMann looks to pick up another big win and begun a run at Amanda Nunes and her UFC bantamweight title.
UFC 257 takes place on January 23, 2021, from the Flash Forum on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
