Julianna Pena is promising fireworks when she returns to the cage in 2023 following her defeat to Amanda Nunes this past July.

Pena ended 2021 on a huge high after upsetting Amanda Nunes by way of a second-round submission to capture the UFC bantamweight championship. She would go on to lose the belt to Nunes this past July by way of a unanimous decision in the main event of UFC 277.
The 33-year-old has seen her stock rise significantly over recent years and is without a doubt one of the biggest stars on the UFC roster right now. On Tuesday, a fan posted a video to Instagram teasing the 2023 return of Julianna Pena. Pena shared the video to her story and added in the caption “Get your popcorn ready“.

It is unknown at this time who Pena will fight when she returns to the cage. The former champ has previously called for a trilogy fight against Amanda Nunes multiple times. Pena is adamant the rivalry with Nunes needs to be settled in a trilogy, with both women currently 1-1 against each other.
