Former strawweight title challenger Jessica Penne set for UFC comeback, looking at March return to the cage

Former UFC strawweight title challenger Jessica Penne is cleared for a return to MMA competition and is eyeing a March return to the cage.

Jessica Penne is looking at a March 2021 return to the UFC cage.

Penne (12-5-0) recently posted a picture of herself training at the Alliance MMA gym to her Instagram page. When a fan commented “Are we finally going to see you in a UFC octagon? 😃😃😃.“, Penne responded stating “yes! In March!“.

Penne has not been seen inside the UFC cage since April 2017 when she lost a unanimous decision to Danielle Taylor. The 37-year-old was suspended from competition following a second infraction of the USADA program, this suspension lasted 20-months long and was retroactive from April 8, 2019 with Penne being eligible to fight again from December 8, 2020.

The former TUF 20 fighter is a former Invicta FC atomweight champ who owns career victories over the likes of Randa Markos, Lisa Ellis and Angela Magana. In 2015, she notably challenged Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the UFC strawweight championship.
