Olena Kolesnyk is not happy with PFL’s decision to select Martina Jindrova as the back-up fighter for the upcoming Kayla Harrison vs. Larissa Pacheco showdown.

Olena Kolesnyk went 2-1 in her 2022 PFL campaign.

Martina Jindrova has been declared the official backup fighter for the upcoming Kayla Harrison vs. Larissa Pacheco lightweight title bout, and Olena Kolesnyk isn’t happy. The Ukrainian feels as though Jindrova had an easier road to the semi-finals than her and doesn’t deserve it.

I’m really upset that PFL didn’t give me the opportunity to be the alternative. I think I deserve it more than Jindrova because my way through the PFL playoffs was a lot harder than hers, but PFL has this points system or whatever.” she explained during a recent chat with WMMA Rankings.

Kolesnyk beat Abigail Montes and Vanessa Melo en route to the semi-finals in which she lost by way of a first-round knockout to Larissa Paceco. Meanwhile, Jindrova beat Vanessa Melo and Zamzagul Fayzallanova before getting submitted by Kayla Harrison in the first.

Kolesnyk believes fans are in for a big upset on November 25 and predicts the new-and-improved Larissa Pacheco will beat Kayla Harrison to become PFL lightweight champion.

My prediction for the fight, if Larissa Pacheco is in the same condition as in my fight, and the whole year, she has a huge chance to win the belt. It will definitely be interesting to see. Larissa Pacheco, this girl deserves to be a champion this year, she had a much harder way than Kayla Harrison. Kayla had much easier opponents this year in my opinion, with all respect to the other girls. Larissa has all the chance to be the champion of this year.” she said.

The 32-year-old will be flying to New York next week as a VIP guest for the event. She looks to eye up her competition and vows to make it to the finals next year, after coming close this year.

I will fly to New York to see this fight in person and prepare myself for next year. Next year I will step much more forward. This year I was in the semi-final, next year I will definitely be in the final of PFL.” she continued.

The PFL 2022 Championships event takes place on Friday, November 25, 2022, from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States. The main card will be aired live on pay-per-view from 1 pm ET.
