Dumont (8-2-0) has been a mainstay in the women’s featherweight division, fighting the majority of her UFC bouts in the weight class.

During a recent chat with WMMA Rankings, Dumont revealed that she is in the process of cutting weight after the UFC requested her to drop down to bantamweight.

I probably won’t fight in the featherweight division anymore. At the request of the organization, I am in the process of dropping weight [to bantamweight]. I believe they will officially close the featherweight division.” she explained.

The 32-year-old is currently ranked number thirteen in the UFC’s official bantamweight contender rankings. She has fought her last four bouts up at featherweight and has gone 3-1 with victories over Felicia Spencer, Aspen Ladd, and Danyelle Wolf. Her most recent defeat comes by way of a controversial split decision to Macy Chiasson.
