Erin Blanchfield picked up a big win at this past Saturday’s UFC 281 event, submitting Molly McCann in the very first round.

Erin Blanchfield put on a destruction at UFC 281.

Blanchfield (10-1-0) made easy work of McCann at UFC 281, locking in a kimura in the first-round to emerge victorious.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour on Monday, Blanchfield admitted that she was surprised that Molly McCann tapped out. She expected she would need to choke the Liverpool favorite out, and admits she was prepared to “dislocate her arm”.

I remember even before the fight thinking I was probably going to have to choke her unconscious or something like that. I didn’t think she would tap from an armbar or a kimura. In the fight it was just so there and I knew I had the position in so tight. I was almost waiting to see if she would let it pop. Because I’ve popped other people’s shoulders before, I know what it felt like. She let it get pretty close, I knew if I cranked it any more it definitely would have dislocated, so I was definitely prepared to dislocate her arm and the ref probably would have had to stop it, maybe in between rounds or something. But she tapped. She let it go, but she tapped, pretty early enough.” she said.

With the victory, Blanchfield is now on a seven-fight win streak and has gone 4-0-0 since signing with the UFC. The 23-year-old is currently ranked number-twelve in the UFC’s official flyweight contender standings.
