Cynthia Calvillo returns to strawweight, takes on Loopy Godinez in April

Per Carlos Legaspi of ESPN Deportes, a strawweight fight between Cynthia Calvillo and Lupita Godinez is targeted for a UFC event on April 8.

In December, Calvillo (9-5-1) confirmed to WMMA Rankings that she planned on moving back down to 115 pounds, the division in which she began her UFC career.

The move comes following a four-fight skid at flyweight. Her most recent fight was in August, where she lost a split-decision to Nina Nunes.

Mexico’s “Loopy” Godinez (8-3-0) will welcome Calvillo back to strawweight. Godinez looks to get back in the win column after having a two-fight win streak spoiled by Angela Hill in August.

The location and venue for UFC Fight Night on April 8 is TBA.
