December’s UFC 232 pay-per-view event will be co-headlined by a highly anticipated women’s featherweight title fight between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes.
Cyborg (20-1, 1 NC) won the vacant UFC featherweight title in July 2017, knocking out Tonya Evinger in the third-round to claim the belt. She has since gone on to defend the title in pay-per-view main events against Holly Holm and Yana Kunitskaya. Prior to joining the UFC, Cyborg had held the Invicta FC and Strikeforce featherweight belts. She is considered by most as the pound-for-pound best female fighter in the world.
Nunes (16-4) is the reigning UFC bantamweight champion and now moves up in weight in an attempt to become the organization’s first female double champion. She won the 135-pound belt in July 2016, submitting Miesha Tate in the very first-round of their UFC 200 headlining encounter. She has since gone on to defend the belt against Ronda Rousey, Valentina Shevchenko and Raquel Pennington, all in pay-per-view main events.
Ahead of December’s highly anticipated showdown, the UFC has unveiled the official poster for the event. Take a look below:
