A strawweight contest between Cheyanne Vlismas and Cory McKenna has been confirmed as the headliner for the preliminary portion of the upcoming UFC Vegas 66 event.

Vlismas picked up a brutal knockout win over Gloria de Paula last year.

UFC Vegas 66 takes place on December 17 and will be the organization’s final event of the year. Only one female fight has been booked for the event, and that bout will headline the preliminary card.

Vlismas (7-2-0) is currently riding high on a two-fight win streak following a dominant decision against Mallory Martin, as well as a stunning first-round knockout over Gloria de Paula. Also known as ‘The Warrior Princess’, the 27-year-old has been showing significant improvements to her MMA game fight-by-fight as evidenced by her recent performances. Vlismas will now look to make it three in a row and put herself in position for a top-fifteen fight sometime in 2023.

McKenna is coming off a first-round submission win over Miranda Granger.

McKenna (7-2-0) has won three of four fights since signing with the UFC and is coming off a sensational first-round Von Flue Choke submission win over Miranda Granger. With additional wins over Kay Hansen and the highly-touted Vanessa Demopoulos, the 23-year-old is looking to make another huge statement by taking away Vlismas’ recent momentum. McKenna’s only UFC defeat comes by way of a razor-close and controversial split decision to Elise Reed.

UFC Vegas 66 takes place on December 17, 2022, from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
