The former champ, Esparza (17-6), currently rides an impressive four-fight win streak— claiming victories over Virna Jandiroba, Alexa Grasso, Michelle Waterson and Marina Rodriguez. Esparza has been a staple in the division’s elite since its UFC inception in 2014.
The infectious Ribas (10-1) is unbeaten in four UFC appearances— notching wins over Emily Whitmire, Mackenzie Dern, Randa Markos and Paige VanZant. Ribas carried a 70% finishing rate into the bout.
