Boxing results: Claressa Shields defeats Savannah Marshall to become the new undisputed middleweight champion of the world

Saturday night in a headlining bout at the O2 arena, Claressa Shields defeated Savannah Marshall via unanimous decision to become the new undisputed middleweight champion of the world.

Shields and Marshall put on an incredible ten-round battle, with both women landing clean shots on multiple occasions. Ultimately, Shields appeared to be the slicker, sharper boxer and was awarded the unanimous decision.

Also known as ‘THE GWOAT’, Shields remains undefeated and improves her professional record to 13-0-0. The 27-year-old also competes in MMA competition as part of the PFL, she is expected to return to the promotion before competing in boxing again.

The Shields vs. Marshall event took place on Saturday October 15, 2022, from the O2 Arena in London, England.
