Saturday night in the co-main event of ‘Shields vs. Marshall’, Alycia Baumgardner defeated Mikaela Mayer via split decision to unify the WBO, IBF, WBC, IBO and The Ring super featherweight titles.

The fight was a thrilling back-and-forth war from the get-go. Mayer looked to keep her distance and land strikes from afar, whilst Baumgardner certainly landed the more impactful shots once they got close.

Baumgardner improves her professional boxing record to 13-1-0, with her win streak now at seven. The 28-year-old has been growing as a fighter each time she steps into the ring and fans saw the best version of her yet at the O2 arena.

Following the big win, Baumgardner revealed she has no intention of giving Mayer a rematch and instead wants to fight Hyun Mi Choi in an attempt to become women’s boxing undisputed super featherweight champion of the world.

The Shields vs. Marshall event took place on Saturday October 15, 2022, from the O2 Arena in London, England.
