Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman has a huge opponent planned for Paige VanZant’s second fight later this year.
VanZant (0-1 Bare-Knuckle Boxing) was unsuccessful in her promotional debut earlier this month, losing to Britain Hart via unanimous decision. The former UFC star was in good spirits following the loss and is keen to get back into the ring again.
During a recent chat with MMA Fighting, Bare Knuckle FC president David Feldman praised VanZant for her efforts earlier this month and teased that she’ll be taking on a “well-known name” in her second fight later this year.
“I really take my hat off to her because she didn’t have to do this. Now I take my hat off to her even more because she definitely doesn’t have to do this again. She’s doing it and she really wants to prove herself and that’s the kind of person that I want to be in business with, the kind of person I have a lot of respect for. So I can’t wait to see what she’s going to do.” he said.
“I think she’s going to adapt a lot more. I think she’s really going to take a step up in her next fight. Pretty sure we have the opponent. We’re just dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s on this one. It’s another well-known name and I think the public is really going to get behind this one. I think it’s going to be a really competitive fight.” he continued.
There is no word at this time on who the opponent is, but VanZant’s next fight is expected to take place during the Summer.
