A bantamweight fight between Hailey Cowan and Ailin Perez has been made official for the UFC Fight Night event on February 25, per MMA Kings.

Cowan (7-2) will be making her UFC debut after defeating Claudia Leitte via split decision on the August 16 edition of Dana White’s Contender Series earlier this year. Despite the close victory, the UFC president acknowledged that Leitte was a huge prospect in her own right, and decided to award Cowan a contract as he feels the 135-pound bantamweight division needs new blood.

Perez (7-2) will be moving down to 135-pounds after competing in her UFC debut up at featherweight. The 28-year-old was unsuccessful in her first showing, losing to Stephanie Egger via first-round submission. Despite the disappointing result, the 28-year-old still gained a lot of new fans after going viral for twerking on stage during the weigh-ins.

The UFC Fight Night event on February 25, 2023, takes place from a location still to be announced. Stay tuned for more updates.
