Atomweight sensation Stamp Fairtex has officially been named as ONE FC’s Female Fighter of the Year for 2021.
On Friday, ONE Championship (also known as ONE FC) took to their official website to reveal that Stamp Fairtex has been named the Female Fighter of the Year for 2021.
Fairtex (8-1-0) has had an incredible year after winning ONE FC’s atomweight grand prix, cementing herself as the next challenger for the returning ONE FC atomweight champ Angela Lee at some point in 2022.
Starting the year off with a heartbreaking first career loss to Alyona Rassohyna, Fairtex would come back in September to avenge that defeat, as well as taking out Julie Mezabarba and Ritu Phogat to win the ONE FC atomweight grand prix.
The 24-year-old is without a doubt one of the best female atomweight fighters on the planet and should be considered alongside the likes of RIZIN’s Ayaka Hamasaki and Kanna Asakura, as well as Invicta FC’s Alesha Zappitella and Jessica Delboni, for that honor. Although ONE FC contests their atomweight division at 115-pounds, whilst other organizations are at 105-pounds, it should be noted that ONE FC has banned weight cutting by hydration, meaning all their fighters compete at their walking weight. All ONE FC’s atomweights, including Angela Lee, Denice Zamboanga, Ritu Phogat and Bi Nguyen, are capable of and have proven to be able to make 105-pounds when fighting in organizations with traditional weight-cutting rules, making them all legit female atomweight fighters.
