Zhang Weili has successfully made it to the United States as she prepares to defend her strawweight title against Joanna Jedrzejczyk at the UFC 248 event on March 7.
Weili (20-1-0) has had a hectic month, being forced to move her training camp from her home country of China to Bangkok in Thailand, due to the coronavirus outbreak. After it emerged Thailand was now the second most affected country, Weili then moved to Abu Dhabi.
On Saturday, Zhang Weili confirmed in a social media post that she has finally made it to the United States.
“We made it to America. We are ready. Always ready. See you soon Las Vegas.” she said.
On Sunday afternoon, the champ revealed she had begun her first training session in the United States.
“Today we begin our first training session in the United States. Everything is fine with us.” she said.

‘UFC 248: Adesanya vs. Romero’ takes place on Saturday March 7, 2020, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The main card, co-headlined by Weili vs. Jedrzejczyk, will be aired live on pay-per-view via ESPN+ from 10pm EST.
