Zarah Fairn dos Santos has been forced out of her featherweight fight against Kaitlin Young at this Friday’s Invicta FC 32 event due to visa issues. Sarah Patterson will step in on short-notice to battle Young in a 150-pound catchweight bout instead.
Patterson (5-4) makes her promotional debut following a successful run competing as a lightweight and winning four of her last six. The 34-year-old has finished all her career victories and earlier this year had the intention of moving down to the featherweight division after trying out for The Ultimate Fighter 28. Ultimately, ‘Primal’ was not picked for the show but was praised by Cris Cyborg on social media for her ‘ground control’.
Young (8-9-1) picked up a big victory in her last showing, defeating King Reina by way of a unanimous decision at the RIZIN 12 event. The 33-year-old has faced many well-known veterans of the sport including Gina Carano, Julie Kedzie and Liz Carmouche. She owns a notable first-round knockout victory over Miesha Tate from back in 2007.
Invicta FC 32 takes place this Friday November 16 from the Firelake Arena in Shawnee, Oklahoma, United States. The entire event will be aired live on UFC Fight Pass from 8pm EST.
