  1. I can see 4 of those names, but Julia Budd?! Her last questionable victory against Arlene could have easily been in the running for “Dud of the Year.” While she beat a big name for the title earlier in the year, it was evident that the Marloes Coenen that lost to Alexis Dufresne, was far past her prime.

I would think that Kunlun’s strawweight champion, Weili Zhang, who defeated all 7 opponents in 2017, all but one by finish, would be a much better candidate.

    1. media darling popularity contest. they only have Cyborg on there because they have to. where is Amanda Nunes? Angela Lee also shouldn’t count just because she is ONE’s “it girl”. she fights some bad competition and they aren’t truly even in her weight class. Weili Zhang is the best 115 woman in Asia.

      1. Except for Holm, I’m not so sure if Cyborg’s “competition” is any poorer competition or more undersized than Angela’s. Angela, especially, needs to move up in weight after tonight’s fight. Would love to have seeb her take on Weili before the latter moved to the UFC but it might not have been pretty. It ‘ll be interesting to see how Weili does in the UFC.

Amanda’s not there because she only had one fight last year, and that was a narrow, and some feel controversial, victory over a smaller Shevchenko.

        1. fair enough. Angela Lee doesn’t need to move up in weight. she is a big 115er, but that is her optimal weight. ONE FC needs to stop calling their straw weight division “atom weight” and stop finding real atom weights to fight their company champion.
