This Sunday 15 October at RIZIN 2017 in Fukuoka, an exciting women’s welterweight fight will go down when undefeated King Reina takes on Crystal Stokes.
Reina (6-0) is currently the number-one ranked women’s welterweight fighter in the world. Since making her professional debut in November 2016, the 21-year-old has remained very active, picking up notable victories over the likes of Shayna Baszler, Kristin Handel, as well as the much larger heavyweight competitors in Lei’D Tapa and Jazzy Gabert. She’ll be looking to defend her number-one position on Sunday and continue to prove to the world why she is the best welterweight fighter on the planet.
Stokes (0-0), a close friend and training partner of UFC featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg, will be making her professional debut. The 38-year-old, who stands at 6’0, competed as a gymnast for 20 years, as well as serving eleven years as a United States Marine. She currently plays Women’s Professional Football as a Defensive End for the San Diego Surge and has been training in MMA for several years now. Sunday will give Stokes the opportunity to make an immediate impact in the MMA world by taking out the best women’s welterweight fighter in King Reina.
