Who is Micol di Segni? A look at the promising strawweight prospect who picked up the upset win at Cage Warriors 97

Micol di Segni picked up a huge win at this past Saturday’s Cage Warriors 97 event, defeating hometown favorite, Cory McKenna, via split decision in Cardiff, Wales.

Is Micol di Segni the next Cage Warriors strawweight champion?

The victory is a significant one for Segni (6-1), considering it was both her Cage Warriors and UFC Fight Pass debut. Cage Warriors of course is Europe’s number-one MMA organization, with the likes of Conor McGregor, Michael Bisping, Joanna Jedrzejczyk and many more fighting for the promotion before becoming UFC world champions.

Di Segni is a 30-year-old who was born in Rome, Italy. The promising prospect splits her time training at the Gloria Fight Center in Rome, and the Jacksonwink MMA gym in Albuquerque, New Mexico, along with the likes of Holly Holm, Jon Jones and Michelle Waterson. As well as competing in MMA, Di Segni is also a glamour model under the name Eden VonHell.

The Italian’s most recent victory of McKenna puts her on a five-fight win streak, which includes three impressive finishes. With the organization’s strawweight title currently vacant, one can only assume Di Segni has put herself in the running for a shot at the belt.

  1. Funny how women MMA fighters get upset when they feel certain women fighters get pushed because of their looks. Yet we see women MMA fighters promoting themselves with their looks. Is it jelly? Is it hypocrisy? One thing for sure, it doesn’t matter in the cage.
