This Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 129 event features the highly anticipated promotional debut of Andrea Lee when she battles Veronica Macedo in a flyweight showdown.
Macedo (5-1-1) moves down to the 125-pound division after an unsuccessful promotional debut at bantamweight in September 2016, finding herself victim of a third-round TKO at the hands of Ashlee Evans-Smith. The 22-year-old was born in Caracas, Venezuela but fights out of the MMA Factory in Paris, France, along with UFC heavyweight Francis Ngannou. She believes she has made significant improvements since her last fight and looks to showcase it on Saturday.
Lee (8-2), one of the most highly-touted prospects in the flyweight division, finally makes her promotional debut after over a year of anticipation. The 29-year-old, also known as “KGB”, is a former LFA flyweight champion and has also dominated the competition at Invicta FC, earning victories over the likes of Rachael Ostovich and Ariel Beck. Saturday will give the Karate Mafia standout the opportunity to insert herself in the rankings and make her case for a shot at UFC gold.
UFC Fight Night 129 takes place this Saturday May 19 from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The main card featuring Macedo vs. Lee will be aired live on Fox Sports 1 from 10pm EST.
