This Saturday 14 October at Araucária Combat 7, an exciting women’s flyweight fight will go down when top-three ranked Vanessa Porto takes on Marta Gladiadora. The winning Brazilian could most certainly be a contender for the UFC’s new female 125-pound division.
Porto (18-8-0) is the number-three ranked women’s flyweight fighter in the world, according to the WMMA rankings. She owns notable victories over Roxanne Modafferi, Tonya Evinger and Germaine de Randamie. The 33-year-old Brazilian will be looking to rebound from a two-fight losing skid, in which she has dropped close decisions to undefeated Agnieszka Niedzwiedz and Invicta FC flyweight champion, Jennifer Maia.
Gladiadora (6-10-0) begun her career with a 3-9 professional record, however she has been showing remarkable improvements to her MMA game over the last few years and has won three of her last four, including victories over highly touted flyweights in Sidy Rocha and Gisele Pereira. Gladiadora is looking to rebound from her July majority decision loss to Priscila Cachoeira and plans to shock the world on Saturday by taking out a woman who many consider one of the best flyweights on the planet.
