Brasil Shooto returns on July 26, the “Solidarity” edition fight card will feature one women’s bout. Valesca “Tina Black” Machado (7-2) will face 20-year-old Karen “FÊNIX” Thalita (2-1) in Rio de Janeiro.
“Tina Black” recently signed with Invicta FC as an atomweight. She will take on strawweight Thalita, as the U.S and Brazil continues their travel restrictions.
Machado made her last appearance over a year ago, when she finished Maria Ribeiro in the third round via punches at Future FC 6.
Thalita lost to Andréia Serafim via elbows in the second round at SFT 19. The 20 year old will make her Shooto Brasil debut.
Before COVID-19 hit Brazil, Shooto Brasil hosted their women’s lightweight one-night tournament, winner Mariana Morais earned a PFL contract after winning the Grand Prix.
Shooto Brasil: Solidarity will take place at the Upper Arena in Flamengo, Rio de Janeiro on July 26. The fight card starts at 7 p.m. ET, the event will not be open to the public.
