This Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 125 is set to feature an exciting women’s flyweight showdown between Valentina Shevchenko and undefeated promotional newcomer, Priscila Cachoeira.
Shevchenko (14-3) will be making her 125-pound debut. At bantamweight, a division in which she was severely undersized, she picked up notable wins over Holly Holm, Julianna Pena and Sarah Kaufman. The 29-year-old is confident she can become a world champion at flyweight and feels she can showcase more of her skillset when facing women the same size as herself.
Cachoeira (8-0) will be making her promotional debut. The Brazilian is undefeated, with four brutal knockout wins to her record. She trains at the Paraná Vale Tudo gym, along with former UFC strawweight title challenger, Jessica Andrade. Saturday’s fight will no doubt be a major step up in competition for Cachoeira.
UFC Fight Night 125 takes place this Saturday February 3 from the Mangueirinho Gymnasium in Belem, Para, Brazil. The main card featuring Shevchenko vs. Cachoeira will be aired live on FS1 from 10pm EST.
