Valentina Shevchenko vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk, flyweight title | This Saturday, UFC 231 Main Card | 10pm ET, LIVE on PPV

This Saturday’s UFC 231 event features a highly anticipated flyweight title fight when Valentina Shevchenko takes on Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the vacant belt in the co-main event.

Who will claim the vacant UFC flyweight title at this Saturday’s UFC 231 event?

Shevchenko (15-3) looks to pick up her first UFC world title after unsuccessfully challenging Amanda Nunes for the bantamweight belt back in September 2017. Many believe Shevchenko is one of the best at 125-pounds due to her performances in the 135-pound weight-class against much bigger women in which she didn’t cut weight and defeated the likes of Holly Holm, Julianna Pena and Sarah Kaufman, as well as giving the champ, Amanda Nunes, her toughest fight to date since becoming champion.

Jedrzejczyk (15-2) is arguably one of the UFC’s most dominant champions of all time, having defeated Carla Esparza for the strawweight belt in 2015 and going on to defend it against the likes of Claudia Gadelha, Jessica Andrade, Karolina Kowalkiewicz, Valerie Letourneau and Jessica Penne before ultimately losing the belt to Rose Namajunas in November 2017. The 31-year-old feels as though she severely depleted her body by trying to make weight at strawweight and believes fans will see a better fighter at flyweight.
