There is only one woman who Valentina Shevchenko wants to fight next and that’s UFC flyweight champion Nicco Montano.
Shevchenko (15-3) made her 125-pound debut at last night’s UFC Fight Night 125 event, bloodying and battering Priscila Cachoeira, eventually submitting her in the second-round. The “Bullet” says Nicco Montano is the only person she’s thinking about right now, she believes the champ has had “enough time” to recover from her injury and is ready to claim her first UFC title.
“I was ready for this title fight even before this victory. I’ve been ready forever for the title. I’ve wanted it from the beginning to have a fight with Nicco, but I know she’s injured. She has to have a little time to recover. Now, I think it’s enough time. I think we’re ready to do it. It’s one name on my mind right now. It’s Nico. I’m not thinking about anyone else.” Shevchenko told reporters after her big win.
