Valentina Shevchenko debuts at number-one in the UFC’s flyweight rankings

Valentina Shevchenko has debuted at number-one in the UFC’s official flyweight rankings following a second-round submission win over Priscila Cachoeira at this past Sunday’s fight night event in Belem.

Shevchenko is the number-one ranked flyweight contender in the world, according to the UFC’s rankings.

Shevchenko (15-3) bloodied and battered Cachoeira at UFC Fight Night 125, before ultimately sinking in a rear-naked choke resulting in the submission. The 29-year-old was considered the second best bantamweight fighter in the world, before making the move down to flyweight. She believes she is the best in the world at 125-pounds and she certainly proved it last weekend. The “Bullet” is keen to challenge UFC flyweight champion Nicco Montano as soon as possible.
