Valentina Shevchenko and Cris Cyborg training together for upcoming title bouts

Two of the best strikers in MMA are helping each other out before their respective upcoming title fights.

Based on numerous social media posts, Valentina Shevchenko has gone to Los Angeles to train with Cris Cyborg at Cyborg’s private training facility.

Cyborg (20-1), the UFC Featherweight Champion, is training for her upcoming superfight with Amanda Nunes (16-4), the UFC’s Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Meanwhile, Shevchenko (15-3) is fighting Joanna Jędrzejczyk (15-2) for the vacant UFC Women’s Flyweight championship.

Shevchenko has valuable experience facing Nunes– having faced Nunes twice at bantamweight. Likewise, Nunes can share her experience against Shevchenko with Joanna, her teammate at American Top Team in Florida.

It appears that in addition to publicly wishing Cyborg well in her fight against former adversary Nunes, the two fighters decided to pool their resources. Only time will tell whether their training will be mutually, or even singularly beneficial.

What upcoming title fight are you most excited for?
