USADA fires back at Jessica Penne, claim her statement was filled with ‘factual inaccuracies and unfounded allegations’

USADA have fired back at Jessica Penne after she issued a lengthy statement claiming she is ‘heartbroken and defeated’ after being ‘bullied’ into retiring from MMA by the anti-doping agency.

Penne (12-5-0) issued her shocking statement this past Friday. Public reaction has been huge, with the majority of the MMA community expressing sympathy towards Penne and their frustrations with USADA.

The US Anti-Doping Agency are far from happy with Penne’s comments and have released a statement of their own.

Given Jessica Penne’s public statement, we can confirm her positive test for stanozolol,” USADA officials said in a statement sent to MMA Fighting. “However, there are many factual inaccuracies and unfounded allegations in her statement, including that she has been forced out of UFC.

In fact, she has exercised her right to contest her case before an independent arbitrator, per a request USADA received after she released her public statement. Under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, all athletes have the right to present the facts and circumstances during a full evidentiary hearing. We look forward to the opportunity to present the facts and evidence through this process.

  1. It was in her system and she had time to clean up before being tested, she’s busted and she’s trying to get out on a technicality.
