Undefeated Talita Nogueira says she’s “prepared” and “ready” for likely featherweight title shot against Julia Budd

Undefeated Talita Nogueira has declared that she is “ready” to take the Bellator MMA featherweight title from ‘The Jewel’, Julia Budd.

Nogueira says she is prepared and ready for a featherweight title shot against Julia Budd.

Budd (11-2-0) made the first successful defense of her belt at last Saturday’s Bellator 189 event, a split-decision win over Arlene Blencowe.

32-year-old Talita Nogueira (7-0-0) is widely being tipped as the next challenger for the title. During a recent chat with WMMA Rankings, the Brazilian says she feels ‘prepared’ and ‘ready’ for a very likely featherweight title shot. She says she wants to be the biggest female representative of jiu jitsu in MMA, having finished all of her opponents in the first three-rounds thanks to her world-class BJJ game. Take a look at her comments below.

I am building my career in MMA and I am undefeated with 7 victories, nobody has reached 3 rounds with me. I feel prepared, I have my fighting style and I want to be the biggest female representative of Jiu Jitsu in mma. Fighting for the belt would be amazing! I’m ready.

  1. Well, she better get ready for the only style Julia Budd fights, get ready for a clinch battle and take down attempts, other than that, Julia Budd has no other fighting style.

    1. Well if Talita is indeed “the biggest female representative of jiu jitsu in MMA,” Budd may not be so eager to tie up with her. Personally, I have my doubts, and I’m sure Mackenzie Dern would have something to say about that if “biggest” means skill or best known and Gabi if it’s referring to size. Even if Talita is only good at BJJ, Budd may want to avoid taking this fight. Given her performance this past week, it would appear that she needs to change that “Fearless” logo on her top to “Terrified.”

      1. As I have stated before, Julia Budd is strictly a bully MMA fighter, she looks to clinch her opponents and bully them in the clinch around the cage, not really scoring and she looks for takedowns and do a lot of lay and pray, and not much ground and pound in her Bellator fights. And when her opponents stifle that, Julia Budd simply has shown she will not let her hands go in the Bellator cage.
