Bobbi-Jo Dalziel is looking to make her return to MMA competition in the near future and has her sights set on facing welterweight queen King Reina at the RIZIN Fighting Federation year-end event in December.
Dalziel (3-0) has been away from competition for over one year. Prior to her hiatus from the sport, she was the number-one ranked 155-pound lightweight fighter in the world thanks to her 2016 upset victory over Jozette Cotton. The Canadian made her professional debut in June 2014, knocking out Tamikka Brents in the third round following some heavy knees in the clinch. She followed up in March 2016, knocking out Invicta FC veteran Andria Wawro in just 30 seconds via a head kick. Her most recent showing was in October 2016, when she defeated Cotton via unanimous decision.
WMMA Rankings can confirm that Dalziel is one of the names being discussed as Reina’s opponent for December, however nothing has been confirmed as of yet. The 31-year-old has been posting several comments about the possible matchup on her social media pages as of late.
Reina (7-0) is the number-one ranked women’s welterweight fighter in the world. Since making her professional debut in November 2016, the 21-year-old has remained very active, picking up notable victories over the likes of Shayna Baszler, Kristin Handel, Crystal Stokes, as well as the much larger heavyweight competitors in Lei’D Tapa and Jazzy Gabert. Dalziel would no doubt be Reina’s toughest and most experienced opponent to date and her knockout power makes her an even bigger threat.
