UFC’s Liana Jojua announces move down to flyweight, reveals who she wants to fight in first 125-pound appearance

UFC’s Liana Jojua has announced she’ll be moving down to the flyweight division for her second appearance with the promotion.

Liana Jojua is set to move down to flyweight for her second UFC appearance.

Jojua (7-3-0) made her promotional debut as a bantamweight at the UFC 242 event in Abu Dhabi this past September, losing to Sarah Moras by way of a third-round ground-and-pound KO.

There was a noticeable size difference in the fight and the 24-year-old feels she could find more success competing at 125-pounds.

Also known as ‘Mgeli’, Jojua announced her moved down to flyweight in a post on Instagram this past Tuesday. The Russian also made a respectful call-out of Australia’s Nadia Kassem.

Hey Dana White, UFC and Nadia Kassem. I’m coming down to 125 and want to challenge you for my debut fight. No trash, no beef. Just let’s give a great fight to the fans and let’s donate some money from the fight to charity for poor animals of Australia.” Jojua wrote.

Nadia Kassem (5-2-0) signed with the UFC back in 2017 and owns a notable win over former TUF alumni, Alex Chambers. The 24-year-old is currently on a two-fight losing streak, a submission loss to Montana De La Rosa and a knockout loss to Ji Yeon Kim.
