Tonight, in the co-main event of UFC on FOX in Orlando, Fla., a pivotal strawweight battle with title implications took place as Jessica “Bate Estaca” Andrade met the “Tiny Tornado” Tecia Torres.
Tecia was on her bicycle from the beginning of the round, snapping out punches and moving backward out of the way of Andrade’s oncoming hooks. The Brazilian powerhouse ate Torres’ best shots and kept stalking forward. At the end of the first round, Andrade landed a high amplitude takedown. A great first round that arguably could’ve gone either way.

In the second frame, Andrade remained aggressive. Tecia showed great head movement and ate some of Andrade’s best shots. Andrade landed three takedowns in the second round hit Tecia was effective with her up kicks and able to get back to the feet.
Finally, in the third round, arguably with both fighters at a round a peice, the stakes were high. Andrade landed consistent takedowns with heavy ground and pound to control the action. TT stayed active, looking for shots and trying her best to get back to the feet. The round ended with Andrade in a dominant position.
Jessica Andrade def. Tecia Torres via unanimous decision (29-27, 29-28, 29-28).
