#UFCBelem Results: Valentina Shevchenko dominates in flyweight debut

Tonight, in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night in Belem, Brazil, flyweights took center stage as Valentina “Bullet” Shevchenko battled Brazil’s Priscila Cachoeira.

A brutal fight from the start! Shevchenko rocked Cachoeira with a counter check right hand and took the fight to the ground. She landed several elbows, splitting Cachoeira’s forehead and causing the blood to flow. The ultra-tough Cachoeira hung in until the bell though. In the second round, Valentina continued the brutal onslaught, ultimately locking in a rear naked choke for the submission victory.

Valentina Shevchenko def. Priscila Cachoeira via second round RNC submission.

    1. I think I heard 217 to 3, but whatevers; total domination. The division has been put on notice. I have a feeling that Valentina will be to the flyweight division what Cyborg is to the featherweight. At least Valentina will have no problem finding opponents and much higher caliber ones at that. Hopefully, Nicco will be Valentina’s next opponent. I wish Nicco a speedy recovery.

As an aside, I wonder what kind of damage the hands take when they’re slammed against a skull repeatedly like that.
