#UFC224 medical suspensions: Champ Amanda Nunes potentially out six-months

Last Saturday, UFC 224 took over Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with an exciting card that displayed fast fists, fun fights and ferocious finishes.

Highlighting the card was a featured grudge match between Amanda Bobby Cooper and Mackenzie Dern as well as a bantamweight championship battle between Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington.

Post-UFC 224, Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) issued the following medical suspensions.

  • Amanda Nunes: Suspended 180 days, requires x-ray of right foot; if cleared then 30 days no contest, 21 days no contact
  • Raquel Pennington: Suspended 60 days no contest, 45 days no contact pending clearance from maxillofacial surgeon
  • Mackenzie Dern: Suspended 14 days no contest, 7 days no contact
  • Amanda Cooper: Suspended 14 days no contest, 7 days no contact

    1. Likewise. Hopefully whatever injury there is, is minor, and we see her back in action against Cris in the not to distant future.
