Tonight, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the first strawweight fight of UFC 223 is a high stakes one as former title challenger Karolina Kowalkiewicz met Felice “Lil’ Bulldog” Herrig.
RECAP: A touch of gloves and we are underway! Both ladies are ultra tough, throwing leather early and often. Both connecting with some quality shots! KK likely secures the first round when she rolls for a knee bar and nearly gets into full mount. Felice reverses at the end. The second round was more of the same, both landing good shots but KK working more. Kowalkiewicz did some nice damage in the clinch— violent knees and elbows! Both look tired in the third round, taking deep breaths. It’s an all out brawl and an instant FOTN candidate. With 45 seconds left, Herrig rocks KK! She clinches and they stand against the cage until the bell rings. What a freakin’ fight!
