Tonight, at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, the first of three compelling women’s bouts took place in the flyweight division as “Rowdy” Bec Rawlings collided with “Rebel Girl” Ashlee Evans-Smith.
RECAP: No touch of gloves to get started! It was clear from the beginning that AES was the bigger woman in the octagon. She used her size to bully Bec back where she landed with more power. Evans-Smith sealed a dominant round one with a takedown. In the second round, Rawlings started to find her range a little better, landing a few good shots of her own, though, not enough to take the round. In the final frame, it was more of the same. No ground work but a lot of brawling. AES definitely takes this fight but Bec was able to land a few good shots.
